Michael Anthony “Golden Goals” Community Campaign A Roaring Success

Like the majority of the UK, this summer the Michael Anthony team thoroughly enjoyed supporting England in the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship. Even though England fell at the final hurdle, the Michael Anthony team was able to give back to the local communities off the back of England’s success thanks to our Golden Goals campaign.

What was the Golden Goals campaign?

We love any opportunity to give back to our local communities. Therefore, the Tring, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead and Bletchley branches came up with an idea to donate 10 free footballs to a select group of local schools and sports clubs, for every England goal scored in the competition.

To decide which schools and sports clubs would receive the footballs, we asked the general public to nominate local schools and clubs which they felt deserved to be involved in our campaign. Once we had the shortlist of local schools and clubs, we held a quick social media poll to identify the order in which the clubs and schools would receive the footballs – and then we were ready for kick-off!

What was the outcome of the campaign?

Thanks to England’s impressive performance in the tournament, all 11 nominees received 10 footballs each – meaning 110 footballs were being donated to local schools and clubs. Since the loss in the final to Italy, we have been able to put plenty of smiles back on faces by dropping off footballs to local clubs including Newton Longville FC, Tattenhoe FC and Stewkley FC.

Paul Swindlehurst, Partner at Michael Anthony Estate Agents, commented “The Golden Goals campaign was a great success. As a local, independent estate agent we are always looking for ways to give back to the local community – and the Euros provided the perfect platform for this. We thank everyone who took part and hope the local winners enjoy their footballs”.
